Since I worked as a fundraiser for 6 years.. I have had lots of ideas... some of them even worked..

For what you are describing I would suggest that you have the girls make up a simple one page flyer explaining what the project is and why they are doing it.. Is this like www.heifer.org? On the flyer, have 3 choices for people to choose from .. for example Sponsor 1 chick $10, sponsor 3 chicks $30 sponsor 10 chicks $100... whatever the breakdown is.. Then have the girls go to where their parents work and hit up the business owner and coworkers.. Based on my experience.. having the girls do this could easily generate $100+ per girl.

Rebelcowboys: Well, we're mostly teens. I think we can sweet-talk the pastor into helping out, along with our parents. Our dear vice-president can probably charm a few strong manly men into helping out if the need arises.

All in all.... 6 teen girls, a 12 year old boy, 2 dads, 3 moms, and however many teen boys aforementioned vice president can charm the socks off of.
