⠀ Funky egg

One of my girls layed a funky egg today. Im thinking it was one of my Wyandotts first eggs and i just want to be sure its just because its a first egg. It was mis shaped and soft. They are currently getting Zamzows layer feed.

Could bee a first egg. It looks small and if it was a older hen I would think it wold not bee that small For a larger bird.

looks like my first egg....l have two barred rock 2 golden wyanndotte, 2 aracauna...one is rooster..my barred rock first egg looked like that, her second was stomped on by others as she laid it on floor vs box her 3rd egg very thin shelled....we just started adding calcium and layer feed 4 egg bigger and firmer shell and in nesting box...so she's the only one putting out while the other barred rock has all the signs fnan on the ceramic eggs and leaving the egg...oh and found one out in the grass...no idea who or what...but it was a normal egg...so if shes the only one putting out....she better tell the other girls to get with it...my goldens do the squat but nothng else...from anyone else...

Congratulations on your first egg! You are correct; the first eggs a hen lays may be irregular – possibly small in size, with soft shells, no yolks or double yolks – but, after a week or so, egg production should become more consistent, with peak performance at about 30 weeks of age.

For optimal production, be sure to feed a complete layer feed that includes Oyster Strong
