My wife, an excellent cook..
we were at the county fair in the poultry barn..
A man was doing something with his pretty very white lacy looking doves..
My DW says to the man.. Do you eat them?? He looked like someone just kicked him in the stomach.. I was just as shocked.
Oh, my goodness! This JUST happened to me at a local feed store. I overheard a guy talking about pigeons.
Asked his wife, "So you raise pigeons?"
"Yes, he raises hundreds of them!"
"Oh, that's wonderful. Well, I'm looking for a local processor. Do you raise them for meat?"
"What?"
"Do you eat them?"
LOL, she was shocked. I thought pigeons were also known as squab when gracing the dinner plate. What does someone DO with hundreds of pigeons if they don't eat them?
