My Coop
My Coop
So we have a golden comet that has been acting really odd for the past week. She has been lying down very limp and wont really get up and move around so we were moving her in and out of the coop and placing water and food in front of her since she doesn't really seem to want to move on her own. Yesterday we moved her into the garage where it is cool and shady. I put down food and water in front of her and put some bedding in a little crate and outside where she lays in the middle of the day and at night we move her inside. She has a few feathers pecked off of her back and her skin seems a bit paler there than its usual pinky shade. Her poop is liquidy, probably because she isn't eating quite enough and my mom noticed that the bottom of her right foot seemed a little swollen than the other one, I guess that explains her ability to not move and I noticed her limping a few weeks ago but it was only for one day and then she seemed fine. Also when we pick her up she'll curl her foot up and not want to even stand up, she'll just flop down on the ground. I find this really weird because we have had chickens that have had a bum foot before, but still try and move around. I am really worried

HELP!

How does her crop feel first thing in the morning before she has eaten--is it full or empty? Does she have any lice eggs or mite specks on her feather base near her vent? This could cause paleness. Does she lay an egg? Does she have a lot of white material in her poop, more than normal? Also how old is she? The swelling on her foot--is their bumblefoot, a black dot in the middle of a swollen area? Do her legs swell?

Nothing is wrong with her legs, her poop is liquidy and green, I dont think there is any egg laying, and im not sure about the mites... ill check

hi it's the mom now. no eggs for days, seems weaker. just bought tetracycline for her 1/8 + 1/16 tsp per 8oz H20. hope i figured this correctly
