funny colored maran egg

My girls have only been laying for a month or so and today we got a splotchy pale looking egg from one of the Marans. Is this unusual?

Two normal eggs shown with the oddball - and 2nd view shows egg rolled over a bit. (photo looks a little greenish but that's my cell phone for you!)

wow that is an odd color. i've personally never seen a maran egg that shade. Is that a regular thing? this hen laying that color egg I mean? what variety of maran do u have?

I only have two Marans, they are wheaten but that is about all I know. They've been consistently laying the dark brown eggs. DH thought it was so weird when he found it that he didn't even put it in the fridge, lol!
