Funny Farm is what we are going to have to call our home. None of our animals act "normal" (what ever that is)

I'm glad I stumbled onto BYC. I got two chicks this spring and raised the little fluff balls into pretty red hens (arucana and golden sex link). I also purchased two Indian Runner ducklings one of which died shortly after I got them. He wasn't quite right from the start

so my one duck and two hens grew up together and are inseperable. Currently they are living in an old flight pen I had 8'x4'x6' and then hens are laying eggs in a dog house they deemed theirs. Problem is they and the duck also sleep there so we are in the process of building an actual coop. We have a small pasture out back that we've put galvanized corral pannels and chicken wire around so I think we'll just let them have run of that during the day. Also will be putting in a shallow pool for the duck (shallow so no one drowns).

Also living on our "farm" 2 horses, 3 dogs, 2 parrots, 2 pygmy goats (think they're dogs), and a cat (also thinks she's a dog and in fact she chases the dogs).

Hope to learn a lot while i'm here.

Hi, and welcome....These are the best bunch of people you can ever want to find. LOTS and LOTS of knowledge!
Might I recommend....if your chickens and duck, live together, and you are building a small pond...make sure the hens have a way to get out, If they should decide to try and follow the duck in. Like a dock/ramp. Chickens can't swim!
Again, welcome!

Will do on the ramp in the pond. It's looking like it'll be a kiddy pool in a shallow hole so I can dump and scrub it. Even if it's full it should be to shallow to drown in but the ramp is defintly going in anyway.

and I thought I had a lot of animals

I can now tell my husband that I don't have enough
