LOL my 3 silkies just started laying. 1 lays in the box like a good girl

one lays on the ground :| and lastly, my dragon lays on the ground under a ladder but is just plain silly!

today i caught her picking up shavings in her mouth(first i thought she was eating the shavings! :o) and putting them on her back! WTHeck is she doin that for!??!ROFLMBO!

* I saw a thread about a hen doing this with straw not to long ago, Justino. Seems maybe it a throw-back to their wilder days of building nests for themselves.

I noticed my broody hen doing that a few times as she sat on her eggs. That's the first time I ever saw one do that.
