So the other day I let my month old chickens out to free range out of their enclosure for the first time. It was about 6pm so I knew the wouldn't wander far.

Well they were enjoying the outside time and I had my phone ring (Just got a new ringtone with a rooster crowing and clucking) Well they all perked up and walked quickly back into the coop.

I am guessing the clucking made them think of danger.

So next time I want them to go in early I am gonna play my ringtone again.

That's so cool.

I've learned some of the roo language. If I have treats I make the noise my roo makes when he finds something for the girls. They come running to me like "treats goody treats treats". I'm working on the warning noise so they'll go in the house when I want them to.

We make the sound our lead pullet makes for danger when they are getting to close to the woods. It really does work.
I couldn't use a rooster ring tone, though, because my roos don't know how to crow and I don't anyone or anything to teach them!
