Post your funniest molting pic, here is mine...This is Greyslyn she has started to molt, when her dad was molting he looked like a little old man with no pants.

I'm not sure if it's funny or pitiful, honestly

. During her 18 month molt, this beautiful, sleek, healthy looking hen.....



turned into this kinda scary, sickly looking thing. And this pic was even after she'd started growing feathers back. Poor girl.



But, soon enough she was back to her normal sleek self and laying up a storm. And yep, that's ice in the water behind her, so birds survive just fine molting when it's cold.

I do enjoy the ones who molt all at once, it can be shocking to find them looking like naked hedgehogs, where yesterday they we fully feathered.

Do I have some funny moult pictures to share! Dusty is a 2 year and 7 month old Bantam Langshan who has been through two hard moults.
