I bet a whole lot of people think frizzle x frizzle = frizzle. We should do a public service announcement or something.

......... so we don't get more of those.

I know I did! Last spring I got a red frizzle cochin bantam male and 2 females to breed them "for fun". Today I just noticed one of the hens looks alot like that poor guy - now I know why! (sad). So if I let the male breed some of the non frizzle hens is it 50% of the chicks turn out frizzled??

I really want frizzles, but my husband says no b/c he would feel sorry for them. Apparently he thinks they look pitiable when everyone else knows they're adorable. I hope he never sees a frazzle.

It's funny though, as I said before I just noticed today that she was frazzly looking. The rooster looks ok (feathers are ok but not beautiful) but the second hen's frizzled feathers still look great.

Oh well, I'll go ahead and set some of the EE eggs under a broody hen in the spring and see what we get! Wish I'd known about the frizzle "rule" and I would have made sure that only one of the hens I bought was a frizzle cochin.

Oh well, it'll be fun to see which of the chicks get the proper "doo"!

Oh, I'm keeping the frazzle hen, she's a great little girl.
