How much of a joy is it to have chickens? I think I can finally answer that question
I have recently taken up sleeping in the basement on the couch, and I have newspaper and flattened garbage bags covering the entire floor because I have my chicks down there with me, they've been growing so nicely and have so much personality I cant even believe it
However, as of recently they've been flying around alot, -although it's probably more just jumping off of things and flapping really hard- so at this juncture I'm no stranger to being woken up to find 6 or 7 chickens sleeping on my tummy!
The one time that really takes the cake though, was this morning when I woke up because there was one standing on my forehead and scratching around in my hair! Once I realized what she was up to I just laughed, put her back on the floor and attempted to fall asleep again, only to be woken up again by the same chick pecking at my cheek piercings lol
I can only imagine what they are thinking while doing it "Oh hey look mum, you've got something on your face, don't worry though I'll get it"
I think I might start going to sleep with band-aids on my cheeks, or perhaps really shiny pyjamas so they might be distracted lol
Anyone else got some funny/cute stories about their flock? I'd love to hear =)
