Fur as a nesting material?

By the way, the smell after all of that is not that good...
I am thinking about to buy an air purifier because there are really bad smells everywhere

I have used undercoat fibers off my English Shepherds harvested by grooming. Initial intent was for bumble bees but a hen found box of fur and nested in it. As a kid we had an old shed with hundreds of pounds of sheep wool than hens would nest in. Chicks and hens appeared to be OK.
