Future Problem and what to do...

Went to the feedstore today and put in the chick order. I have Barred Rocks and RIRs and I am going all Black Australorps in the chicken house this fall.I plan to breed Australorps and sell fertile eggs and possibly chicks. The rocks are going to the freezer camp. But my dilema is what should I do with Reds there is 3 hens and a rooster they are more pets than livestock, I couldnt kill em, what should I do?

If you have a small flock, you should be able to sell them to someone. Lots of people want RIR.

You could sell them on Craigslist as a quad.

My son has had just australorps for years and loves them. I've been very happy with the one I have. I've you intend to have fertile australorp eggs you will need to get rid of the red rooster.
