[Mom 2em All]

well. two of my baby quail are dead/
all for no fault of their own.
Someone in my house turned off the incubator. Perhaps the alarm was beeping and they wanted it to stop. Someone very selfish.

No it was not an accident. You have to manually flip a switch to turn it off. Temps were 70 in there when I found it. And two dead babies.
Of course SOMEONE didn't realize they were killing the quail. Of course SOMEONE didn't bother asking me how to shut off the alarm. Of course, SOMEONE just thought of themselves and not any consequences and how much the critters mean to ME- how there is something lacking here- respect for me, mom, wife- and that MAYBE just maybe turning off something I have turned on just might be a bad idea.
And of course everyone will say, Wasnt Me...
and aw poor quail.
And then they wont think nothing of it again.

I will though. Makes me just want to give everything away, just hand over my paycheck every two weeks and have absolutely nothing here that may interfere with any of them.

Kind of a side to "mom 2em all" that you all arent used to seeing, huh?
too bad that I actually feel that way right now.

Robin, missed them, some one is going to pick them up today. But he will put me on the list for hatching in March. I don't want to wait that long. No patience here.

I'm so sorry Kim. That was most definitely not the smartest move someone made for sure. If you wait until spring my quail lay soooo many eggs I will give you 100 of them if you want them. I know it doesn't make up for your loss. Wish I was with you right now my friend.

I was outside with the girls. I love how Bird runs up to me like I am the best thing ever...just about when she gets to me she says, "Oh crap! What am I doing?" And then backs up.

I need to clean my house and I need the million leaves raked in my backyard. I cant rake. It hurts my shoulder so bad. I feel like a broken human, but I cannot do it.
Ive no extra money to pay my kids to do it- so I guess they will sit there. But if they DO, I will pay a neighbor kid to rake them up next week. Yep, Ill offer a neighbor money to do yard chores before I pay my kids to do them if they dont do it out of the kindness of their hearts. If they DO rake on their own- and not angry, I will throw them some spending money next week. Make sense?

Good Morning!

Yesterday was rather good, actually. Kayla did good- Robins got her obsessing about horses and peacocks, hahaha. The kids had a Halloween shindig at the school. I took Kayla to find something to wear- and she got a blue fuzzy hat, a yellow bandanna, a rainbow tie, orange over sized glasses, green gloves, red leggings and rainbow boxers over the leggings. She wore one blue sock, one orange sock and her yellow tennis shoes. Asked her what she was, and her reply, "Im a fricken rainbow".

I caught up on sleep and read almost a whole novel, "Gone Girl". My kindle battery died right at the ending..so I am waiting for it to charge. Today, housework day.

Sam doesn't need a crate. He rides excellent in a vehicle. He loves to ride.

Normally he may not need a crate to ride but riding with chickens he may so ill bring something just in case .. may even get him one of those doggie seat belt thingies so he doesnt roam and let him ride that way ..of course if i do make the trip up alone i will just find a way to block him from the back seat and he can ride shotgun with me lol

BTW Robin ... has he had his rabies shot ?

IT is a perfectly normal side with something like that happening .. I would feel very similar

IF i was there I would rake them for you and you wouldn't have to pay me .. i like to rake but dad does it here and he is very grumpy if someone does anything he considers "his" job .. like dishes or doing your own laundry !!!
