Fuzzy's Farm

Hmm, we have 2 goats ready soon - I didn't know that sometimes they won't accept their babies. I did have a mare once that didn't like her first foal for the first 24 hours, but then she changed her mind - with a bit of coaxing from us. Is there no coaxing you can do with a goat?
These are lambs not goats and no, once they decide they don want them you can not make them take them. And no, I don't eat them. I raise them to sell for that but I myself do not eat them.

Robin love those babies!
BYFM, your too slow! Robin should be at work so I am already on my way to her house. With a bunch of treats to keep the dogs busy and I can stash one under each arm. Dang though Robin knows where I live!
TC Hope things get fixed up for you SOON!
About 30 years ago a horse reared back DH didn't let go of the halter. tore rotor cuff. Surgery would only give back about 80% of use. DH opted not to have the surgery. I think some days he regrets not having it done.
Lol Gail. I wouldn't come and get them hahaha. I do NOT like bottle feeding. These two will find themselves being sold right shortly.

BYFM - If you lived closer I would not have a problem letting you bottle them

My husband had that surgery. They removed bone spur on the inside of the vertebral column in his neck, put in a cadaver bone and put him in a neck brace for four months. he wore that neck brace religiously and was a total bear to be around. Healed beautiful though.

I have major bone spur/neck arthritis/bulging discs in my neck...so I do believe I will watch your posts carefully so that I may see my future. That is very rare- being able to look into a crystal ball and see what the future holds. If you heal beautifully and find the quality of life has improved, I may be persuaded to have the surgery done.

Nova-
I am over the pissy fit I had this morning when i deleted my post. The recycled eggs are doing beautifully. i moved everyone out to the coop and I miss them terribly and worry about them extremely. I do hope they continue to be okay out there- just had no room for them inside any more. The quail are two and a half weeks old and huge. The chicks are a week and a half- but think they are quail. There are twenty two quail.
Robin- I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE the baby lambies. I wouldnt dare. Snoopy Animal Control was ON MY STREET TODAY. In fact, he has been all over my neighborhood- crawling like a tick. Wish he would find something more interesting on the other end of town.
Stop them and ask them if they can't find somewhere else to be lol. You know Dink is going to want one of these hanaha.

Aren't them babies too young to be outside ?

Robin

You know me better than that. The babies are locked in the coop- not allowed out. Quail and chicks. With a heat lamp AND because I am a big wimp, a radiator type heater.

Essentially, I turned the coop into a big brooder.

And it doesnt matter what Dink wants. The snoop guy wont go away.

MOM - last post I read of yours was about animal control making you get rid of all your birds. I'm having such a hard time keeping up, what happened; sounds like you moved them into hiding in the garage. How's it working out?

Surgery - I'll keep everyone posted. I was horribly afraid but have been reassured by many folk (including a surgical nurse) that it really is a quick healing surgery. It seems that doc's like to do this one because the outcomes are so good. I'm hoping. . . !
no didnt hide them in the garage.
I hid them at Robins' house.
BUT-
I had eggs in the incubator when I got busted and told to get rid of my girls. I couldnt bring myself to unplug the incubator. So, thats how I ended up with four chicks. Um, recycled eggs.
And the quail hatched the day I took my hens to Robins. City didnt ask if I had quail.

(im not allowed to have them either).

Well I thought the lambs were baby calves! Sorry.. But they are cute! I couldn't raise them to eat myself. I don't even think I could eat my chickens! Anyway have a great day everyone! Finally supposed to have sunshine here today, it's rained for days...

Hi Nova, Doesn't Daron have CS? What bay? Blame the computer.
Yup... blame the computer. Not an ebay fan. LOL

and I don't think he does, and I am not sure I'd buy from him if he did have what Carls looking for. Carls birds are not vaccinated for MG, and there's some concern with the shed, that non vac'd birds could then pick it up. Not so sure on the proof/nonproof of this, but I would hate to risk someone elses birds. I am not worried for my own, That wouldn't be a problem, they are mine, but not someone else..

I can't eat my chickens either lol. That's why I stopped eating deer. I used to raise them and when I looked at my fawns I just couldn't imagine. We raised beef cattle for many many years and we never butchered one of our own. I sold them for that but couldn't eat them myself.

Good morning!
Hope everyone has a Happy Valentines Day!
Don't know if it is a sign that spring is in the air, but the skunk I was smelling this morning sure was.
