Fuzzy's Farm

Okay just some useful information. I had seen on the new about a month ago that after Hurricane Sandy the Red Cross came up with an app for your phone. My DD has it on her phone it was a FREE app. The Red cross will send a warning to your phone if there is a tornado warning. Also it can alert familiy and friends that you are alright. Will also provide list for shelters. and where to seek help or shelter after being hit. PLEASE check it out.

That sounds like a very handy app.
Gigi, I just saw the news not too long ago. I figured out pretty quick that was a different one than the one you posted about earlier so it had me wondering if you were ok. Glad you and your family are ok, but how terribly sad for so many near you.

very scary day for you Gigi. Glad you and your family are safe. Praying for those trapped. What an awful few days there.

Savannah, sleep!

Fuzzy... You too!

got the water pump changed out... Still having the same dam problem. Waterpump not the problem... It was going bad, but wasn't too bad, coulda worked yet for quite some time. So, got one last thing it could be... Radiator cap. Boy, this is pithing me off.

wait it gets better. We had the septic done at the beginning of the month... Water is coming up out of the ground overture septic now, running towards the retaining wall then draining back in... It was not doing this before the pumping,it is now... Insert a bad word here...

this is not a good week. It just started...

Nova don't know about the septic.. We had ours pumped over the winter. every once in awhile it smells like a sewer if your standing over the kitchen sink. About all I can say to sum that up is another bad word.
With the Jeep could you possibly have a vapor lock in your cooling system? Did you bleed it? Just food for thought!

Gigi- Glad you and your family are okay!!!!
I agree that a shelter should come with every property! I think that should go for everywhere that has tornados though.
I would love one in my house too. Maybe even a panic room!
Next big project is going to be to find a tub surround; at least one short side and one long side; may look into one of those fancy shower rods that curve around instead of building a wall on the other short end since i think it makes it look so much bigger! This next week i am going to be buying some cheap paint from the habitat for humanity store and painting as much as possible,
We got an L shaped shower curtain rod for our bathroom on ebay. It has a support hanging from the ceiling at the angle. It works pretty good and is very sturdy. The worst part is that we have 2-3 curtains on it at one time to cover all the edges and that is a lot of hooks... not to mention that we hung it way too high (BF is very tall and we wanted the shower head to be high so he wouldn't have to duck to rinse)

Ewwww... This is our first time with a septic. We just had ours pumped this year. It is about 6-8" under ground so it is easy to dig up... What would make it do that?
BF said that the pipes out of the tank get clogged if stuff goes down the drain and then it won't work properly.
Maybe the flood washed too much dirt in???

I will be going back to work this weekend. It will just be Sat and Sun job at a grooming shop.
I am so excited!!!
I miss getting out of the house!

I had worked there before I had DS and had some issues with new management that came in, but I hope that is all sorted out by now.
The lady I worked for brought in her FIL as financial backup and a "silent partner"... Let's just say he was less than silent and ended up hanging around the shop criticizing EVERYTHING the employees were doing. He knew nothing about grooming an animal much less how to talk to employees.
I know you can't win them all but when the new boss takes you outside in front of the shop and tells you that you are annoying... It is so unprofessional. (This was because I corrected him in front of a customer because he was giving her incorrect information. Umm... I had been grooming for years and he had maybe washed a dog... maybe) This guy is so full of himself that he had gag business cards made up that named off a bunch of weird "occupations" that he was capable of... such as "Elephant Inseminater" WHAT??? WHY???

Got to go fill out paper work tomorrow... If I get that funny feeling like management hasn't changed for the better, I will pass on the job.
Not worth the stress.

We locked up the goats (I couldn't get the chickens in - stupid chicks) and spent most of the evening in the closet. It's supposed to be a safe room but when those F4's come barreling through I think the only thing safe is underground. The tornado went directly over us but didn't touch down - thank goodness. It hit the lake, picked up even more power and then hit the trailer park that's just about completely destroyed. I feel so sorry for them. DH and I are seriously thinking about having a shelter put in but 3 thousand is a lot of money so I don't know One hit and it would pay itself though. We've now had three VERY close calls. I went out later to check on the girls and they were just puttering around as if nothing had happened and the goats were simply mad at being locked up way before their bedtime.

My DIL's elementary barely avoided being hit. My son works in the municipal building and he said they could here it coming at them. Power stations blowing up and things slamming into the building. It turned right as it got to their building so all they lost was part of the roof. He's very subdued. Says he never thought about dying until then. Neither one made it back to Norman until midnight because it was so hard to get out. The devestation is just incredible and I'm sure the death toll is going to rise today.

Good luck!! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Rusty, we were thinking of having our septic pumped out because we've been here for 8 years and never had it done. It works fine so now I'm thinking maybe we won't have ours pumped...I hate the smell of sewage...
