I'd have to build high roosts for the tail. I'd have to build a separate coop and run with high roosts. Could be a chunck of changes. I certainly would not want them anywhere near the big boys. I'd want to be able to keep those tails intact.

How ya doing fuzzy? Any laundry positions open? LOL

I only got one egg from the faverolle hens today... Those 4 girls must be tiffed off at me.

no laundry, lol. Housekeeper was asking about kitchen positions, i guess anything but nurse aid don't get much for hours in any position! lol

I think the guys on the MI thread think i'm debating or something, i am trying to understand the deep litter method and if it would work for me, and so far the only one who has offered any constructive ideas was Raz!

Apparently the big leaves is why it failed for me last winter, i needed shredded ones. I still want to do sand in the new coop if i get to build it, but for this winter it would be nice to have a way to keep the d'uccle's feet nicer! Poop tracking machines.

I swear I wonder if there is a desire to start fights on ocassion over there when they get bored. Been very active the last several days.

Me, I do not like the deep litter either. That is just me. I might have better luck with it on the earthen floor, but... I think I would have to add a higher base around the bottom. I am not sure how that would work in the summer months though when I take off the walls and leave just the fencing...

I think I will just keep doing it the way I am. I understand that it is supposed to add heat in composting action, but I hate the smell with the amount of birds I have. I do not have poop boards, wouldn't even try to figure out how to add them to that hot mess I have in there. LOL I put just enough pine in there. Works just fine.

Hey Gigi. How's the finger? Not sticking round much. Had a bad day today. Had a gall attack, I know Mom... Lasted about 2 hours. Was not home when it happened, so didn't get my ACV till I was well into the cold sweat stage of pain. Big chug of it, 45 minutes later, stoned passed. Was hello! So, the things I should have done are not finished yet. Just getting the kids in the washing machine.. I mean tub.

had surgery today so typing one handed=lol. fighting nausea from pain meds-not going to take anymore would rather hurt. dr took out 3/4 inch toothpick size pc wood. nova Is there anyway to prevwnt those

I have been made a super awesome offer, and I AM considering how the heck I could do this. May have to invest in an over head heater for the back shed. Maybe have to reconsider my coop design, yard lay out ect... I have been offered a chance at some eggs from these... This would be the daddy bird....

im not a fan of dl either. it requires a certain amount of moisture which we don't have - I hsve s linoleum floor which dosenr work well. typing one handed isnr working well.

Gigi, ucky, ucky, ucky. Hope it gets to healing now that the 'toothpick' is out.

I've spent the last few hours trying to set up some apps and stuff on our new nook. I'm only trying to get the free ones, but man, I'm seeing so many I would like to have that aren't free. They so do that on purpose. While I was doing that, my oldest DD started yelling from the bathroom. She was taking a bath and tried to wash her back and wound up popping her shoulder out. I had no clue what to do. Googled and became more confused. She was able to get it back in a place somewhat, but it's still not right and there's nothing we can do until morning since DH is at work and our truck is at the mechanics which leaves us s.o.l. Go figure.
