Fuzzy's Farm

Having chicken aprons with HUGE eyes is a fabulous idea!!!

And I plan on making a hoop house like that one- if my husband will help me with the wood. if not, I have enough boys around here that if I offer money, they may help me. I want it for quail- and I plan on putting it in the corner of my yard and planting pole beans along the sides. Camoflauge.

If I get time today I am going to string up the heatlamp over the waterer... Might just fill up a tub that I have out there and hang it over that. I don't have any wattles on my birds that I have to worry about.

I did end up getting an egg yesterday... not sure when she laid it. Poor girl hasn't skipped a day in a long time!

Got a friend interested in chickens. Her girls are allergic to everything and she wants to raise a few for eggs and a few for meat!! Won't be this year though.

I would love to order some meat birds... and a couple turkey!... again... not gonna happen this year. I have been thinking about moving... Would like to go somewhere with a little more land.

Just got home. Roads are getting icky out there so I'm glad to be off them now.
Saw Goober out running around the goats when I pulled up. Him and one of the hens got out while DS was taking care food and water. Son got the hen back in, but Goober is still on the lam. Goofy chicken.

Well, I got the run fixed up. I put up a top cross beam. Had to loosed the hoops just a bit to get enough wiggle room to push the tarp up enough to get it good. Now the tarp is very tight. Also added some supports on the sides of the hoops. The snow is falling off real nice now, and to really settling anywhere. I am sore. I am tired. I want to go to bed. I don't want to make dinner. Yes, had to do it myself... John doesn't know how to do this stuff, so I didn't even bother asking. I was going to ask the neighbor, I thought he was home, but nope, day off, and gone away. It is not easy getting 10 foot 2x4 up 9 feet in the air. I am glad I am creative. I used the hoops themselves to hold on end in place while I got the other end anchored and then the ceiling to floor supports in. LOL I am talented. LOL. It is a hot mess, but with the amount of screws I used, I am thinking it's all good. lol I did however put a few tiny holes... Will be using the duck tape method later on to fix that. HEHE.

OH, got to use the snow blower today too. Sucked. The wind was still blowing so I had to blow everything east or end up with a face full of snow. That sucked, too, cuz I had to keep changing the darn direction of the shute. Annoying.

Wooo hooo Nova. I like all your timber wrangling. And in the snow!

How are you feeling Tee? Robin? Two instructors in my dept are down with the shingles. We are all discussing getting the vaccination but YUCK I hate shots...

Got my order together for spring chickens: 3 Jersey Giants, 2 more EE's, 2 more Buff Orps (can't afford the lavender or jubilee), 3 speckled Sussex, and two Welsummers. New breeds for us choses for agreeableness so grandkids can pick them up - LOL. We will have 21 chickens - chicken math alive and well.

Sorry guys but 70 degrees here today. I didn't get to enjoy it as was teaching but will drop to 29 for tomorrow. Gotta love Oklahoma...
