Well, Gigi, he was smart enough to poke his head and look, and not just run willy nilly on the top. Them there mice are delicacies in some chicken coops. LOL

Its still funny reading it a second time around too. LOL

Got a new video to upload. HEHE. My cute little chick...

ooooh, I hadn't thought of that - lol. I've seen the girls with mice remains - yuck! He was a pretty slick little mouse.


The babies are darling Nova. I wish DH didn't have a hang up about roosters. I'd be hatching my lavender orps.

Had to tell everyone!!! Yea got my first egg from my little spotted Spangler hen today!, she's been the first to lay of all my chickens! Was so exciting to get the first one... Haven't ever had chickens of my own...

Yay, Savannah! That's so exciting! More to come, I'm sure.

When they found the cause of the smoke (which was by that time all over the house) the firemen laughed so hard I though they were going wet THEIR knickers.

Were any of them hott? It could have been worth it!

sorry about your girl. Thats hard and that sucks. Im fortunate to work at the vets so I dont have to ever do it like that.

didja see? I made an Uggo...rather, Chickn Little made an Uggo. I just recycled eggs.

I have no idea what color it is. It started out poop brown and now its just phenomenal.

I will try my best to get a good clear picture of it with my cellphone when the sun is up..if the sun shines today. The color is like white but not white brown but not brown...splashy partridgy...it looks like one of the quail dipped in powder.

Hmmmm - homemade Angel Food... I was going to try one the other night but had killed my bundt pan (don't ask). So I had the brilliant idea of putting the batter into a loaf pan. I placed said concoction in the over and went out to the barn to check on the hens. Well, wind being what it is in Oklahoma, the next thing I know the neighbor to the north of us had called the fire department because the smell of burning angelfood batter was so strong she thought our house was on fire. (We are on 10 acres and they are on 10 acres so you get the idea of distance). I was surprised by a huge yellow fire engine careening down our little winding path of a driveway. When they found the cause of the smoke (which was by that time all over the house) the firemen laughed so hard I though they were going wet THEIR knickers. They left me to scrape black goop out of my oven and toss burned loaf pans. Even the chickens turned up their beaks at it. hmmmm....gotta buy me a bundt pan...

Nova- so sorry about your girl. I lost one of my Calico Cochin hens in that darn cold weather. I went out there yesterday morning and there she was. So sad.

this is the baby that I saved from its naked head and neck shrinkwrapping. It hates me. See it peeping in the picture? Thats what it does whenever I pick it up. The yellow ones do not, and the penguin first one is rather mean. Picks on the other chicks.
