Fuzzy's Farm

Dangit, lost my quotes!

Ok... First off... Robin can't mate with Huey... Go look... That's what it says... "hey robin did you see my post about mating with huey?". Lol

Worms... Do the fecal first. Do a round with invermectin or safeguard. I personally do the zimecterin gold. It has ivermectrin in it. Small pea sized for each in the mouth.

you can do the ivomec pour on too. 3-4 drops, back of neck. They say to do a follow up 10 days later with a different wormer..

You use ACV in you water right? Add pro-bios to there water...Greek yogurt... Goats milk... Buy a bag of chick starter and feed them that while you are worming...

I have a question for you guys. A few of my girls have had poopy butts the last couple of weeks. I've trimmed them and slathered new stock on (for vent gleet) but I'm still seeing some. Do you think they could have worms? I don't see anything in their droppings but then again, not sure what I'm looking for. I have the stuff to run fecals on the goats - do you know if this works for chickens? And what would I be treating them with if it is worms?
Another possibility is mites/ lice, for some reason they give poopy butt feathers too. Easy peasy though, just get some ivermectin and it should take care of bugs and worms all in one shebang! There is cheapy paste for horses, about $3 a tube; there is pour on, and anther kind; once you get it either post what specific kind you ended up with or go to my siggy link for dosing. :) Afterwords give them some buttermilk, or kefir if your store has it. That will restore their balance somewhat and help if it was a bacterial thing like gleet; if none of the above works than have to go on to more advanced stuff.............?

As to the cold/ flu question, i have a head cold right now. I have been on "mason stress vitamins" for a couple weeks now, so it's not as bad as it would have been and is staying north of my lungs. (Stress vitamins have mega doses of B, very energising, and this formula has zinc too) The lozenges are better for treating throats and lungs because it puts the zinc straight into the blood, but these things are like drinking a whole pot of coffee! lol. Can't take both because it'll overdose on the zinc so i'm keeping my zippy pills and mom threw some high dose "C" pills at me, So 3 days later i feel much improved. Also i have been drinking mint tea with rose hips in it, which also are full of "C". Very soothing. I got kefir yesterday to drink as well, which is 99% dairy free and has a ton more "friendly bacteria" in it that are supposed to be immune helpers. (I give it to my chickens too)

For a bout of out-and-out flu, puking and whatnot, I rely on "collodial silver" which is pricey at $15 a bottle but lasts a looooong time. I get the kind that has the nasal spray attachment (comes with a dropper also) You either put the spray under your tongue or dose your drink with it; it has no real flavor so patients/ victems have no idea they are being dosed, lol. (did it do DH's moutain dew once when he was pukey, he was so proud of how his dew had "fixed" him i had to wait a few days to break it to him, he was so mad i "voodoo'd him" lol. Only thing i know that will work on a viral sickness, but don't work for the cold. Only flu. Reason i get the nasal one is it also works against sinus infections, i had a lady friend at work who had one really bad and it fixed her up within 3 days! She was waiting for insurance. So works on flu and sinus infection, and for indoor birds mystery coughs; but no success with the chicken sickness-es. :(

okay, partridge...

but look at the pictures here:

https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...partridge-showgirl-silkie-eggs-up-for-auction

scroll the pictures until you see the chicks in his hand. THEN compare to my chick in hand.

they are different.

Granted, I KNOW mine is a mutt- because Chicken Little is a Serama and Mama is a Showgirl. ,,,, but still, I hate waiting to know what a finished product will look like.

Id like to DNA sex this one, too.

There are many different colors of partridge. Like my silkies, I have one that is brown partridge, a roo that is basically red partridge, a couple blacks that are also partridge. So the blue and what not are just a different partridge, but partridge none the less.

Well, drive way clear. Birds treat filled. Water not frozen, path cleared and corn scattered for the turkeys. One kid has croup and is sleeping. One kid is trying to earn a fish tail on jumpstart. Trash is out... Dishwasher is running. Rice is cooked. Just need to warm the ham and carrots... Now what to do? AH! Talk to you all!
