Fuzzy's Farm

Well... I normally mark the eggs with hatch date... For some reason, I didn't this time. I could go back to the day I said she was broody on here, and figure it out... How many pages you think? LOL.

YES you finally got snow Gigi! That's a good thing.

Pasture mix... it is also a pretty darn shady spot if that makes a difference.

Headache... Well, I try all sorts of things to make them go byebye when they get really bad. I finally broke and had a cuppa joe last night, and it was pretty much back to its normal state of hovering. So, back to normal and not making me want to be puky. I do think I have to contribute some of the blame to Mama Psycho (mother nature), Auntie Flo, and Gall Bladder related food avoidence... Mostly the first two. Those witches with a capital B.

Oh... I have blue tarps. Blue tarps are friends. Along with staple guns and duct tape.

Where the hockey sticks is my banana bread? Nah... I want a banana pudding. I have an hour and a half before I need to get the butt cheese from Bible Club... That's enough time to go to meijer, get the makings for it. And Jace also decided chicken is back on the menu and wants chicken patties. I also forgot to thaw the ribs... SO, maybe we are having soup and sandwiches for dinner tonight.

Think I need to find some crickets for the birds too... HEHE. That should be funny. I brought them in a pound of cooked veggie noodles last night, with 2 diced chicken patties and diced up cheese.... Oh My Gracious was that histerical. They acted like they had never been treated with suck things in their life! I am thinking of cooking up one of the freezer burnt cockerels and feeding that to them tomorrow. LOL. They've been in there too long. I need a deep freezer... No... I need to learn to can and cook and can the suckers.

Oh Kay... I need to go and do something... I dont' know what, but I am sure there is something I must do... Like check Skatter the escapee...

I want banana bread too, Tee. Oh, I have old bananas - I could make it. Maybe I'll get ambitious.

Had to take Maggie (the goat) back to the vet's today. She was laying around and acting like she was hurting and her temps up a degree plus she isn't eating. The vet is keeping her overnight to watch her and do blood work. I'm glad they are keeping her so maybe we can track down what's going on. I'm thinking it's a low grade uterine infection and she may end up having to be spayed. (sigh)

Still snowing here but it isn't sticking. At least we've got some good moisture finally. In Edmond at the university where I teach (an hour North of where we live) they got quite a bit more snow and cancelled classes so I didn't have to go in for office hours - hooray. I was laughing thinking about it. I bet they had only maybe an inch. I bet that wouldn't even cause you guys in MI to blink twice-lol! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will cancel tomorrow also but that probably not going to happen

See, teachers are as bad as students in wanting out of class - lol.

LOL, well, I hope you get your wish, Gigi. I hope your Queen Maggie is going to be ok.

Haven't see fuzzybutt in a while. I know she posted over on MI thread, but she hasn't posted here.... I think she's ignoring us.

I didn't get the stuff for banana pudding. I did however get the stuff to make Italian Wedding Soup. Oh man I am so good at this one. LOL. It's so much better than Campbells canned. I just wish I could find mini meat balls somewhere so I wouldn't have to make them. Even the small meat balls in the store are too big... I put leek onions in today instead of the green onion. Yum and then some. This is the only way I can get my mom to eat spinach.

I picked up a bag of cardinal seed for the birds. It was on sale. Still expensive, but I was to lazy to run to the farm store. I brought it into the run tonight and everyone came down for the collards and the seeds. I then went back to where the wild turkeys scratch around (even though they were in the driveway again today looking for food) and threw out a bunch for them. I hope they like sunflower and safflower, because thats what was in the cardinal feed. This was going on 6 pm... I get in the house, and its ten after 6, and what do I see? The wild turkeys in the path chowing down on it. I have never seen them in the yard that late. I think I will make the rounds over to TSC and get a bag of corn and cracked corn. I could probably pick up the bag of cheep turkey pellets. Its like 11-12 bucks... Its a thought. The neighbor just throws down a scoop of chicken feed for them. Spoiled wild turkeys. They only come when it snows. So... They've got us trained.

My dog has monster gas... I need a mask... and a cork...

Tee like the snow comic!, long day here, rain is finally moving out. So very glad of that. Got 5 eggs today do that was a plus. Banana bread or pudding sounds yummy! I made 2 dozen cupcakes for work tomorrow, put hay in for chickens today again. The rain has made their coop so wet, I feel sorry fr them, so more hay.... So most of you live in Mi? Wow it gets really cold there! I'd freeze, lol. Have good evening all. Gigi hope Maggie gets better soon:(

totally freaking bummed out! Ok, not totally, but close enough...

I am at 10% in my LP.... property taxes need to be paid... SO. I get my IRS return deposited in the bank this morning, and I am thinking, WOOHOO! Gonna go take care of it!

Lp was up $.80 a gallon from my last fill up... so, my $400 LP fill up was now a $520 fill up... Ok... I can deal...Go to pay the taxes, and I am short $500 and some and If I don't have it paid by Feb 28, It goes up to $649 and some change... GAH! I Have to have that paid by April 1st then, or I go into forfiet? Foreclosure? Well, not the one where I lose my house NOW, but where they start the process... Anyway... Dagnabit. LOL. Guess it is going to be a tight next month and a half.

My Skatter is breathing heavy. I am not sure if she's ill, or in distress cuz Pat the Rat keeps attacking her, she's trying to protect her babies, and she is succeeding just fine there, He's more interested in her. All the other garage chickens are just fine with her, Just not Pat the Rat. I picked her up and check her nose and eyes, and they are bright and clear, I even put my ear to her breast to listen to her lungs, they don't sound bad at all... Think it could be him? I'd hate for her to be ill and the chicks! ANOTHER GAH!! Moment...

Hi Kim! How are the reporposed eggs doing?

Still looking for a place, went to see a free trailer down the road from my job but it was sloping off the frame :( We can do a lot, but if the structure isn't sound in that aspect it's a no-go. Also some shady deal about not having the title......... we walked. We aren't in a place to take that kind of risk. I'll keep saving.

I still think i need to let go most of my birds; the trailer park in cedar springs said it was ok if i kept a hen if it was clean and kept on a leash if outside. :) NOT a good park, but within walking distance to one of the branches of my employer. ??? NOT a good park, but they won't ask too many questions if i pay on time; one bonus of ghetto. lol.

So many decisions, just working and trying to mull them over. Sure you don't want a new, super quiet renter Nova??? LOL.
