Fuzzy's Farm

:( :( Which breed did it start in?

I just read the other person's experience and even wasting away with no apparent cause can very well be merek's. :( I wanna get mine tested too. Just in case. I've had 2 die recently, and my beautiful roo was definitely wasting. It is carried on the air, and with me being so close to the auction grounds.............. I am hoping mine have the turkey kind, so they don't die....... Thinking about getting turkeys right now.

same gal, semonolwind is on byc too. Post 45 refers to what i was thinking about when i suggested vaccinating your older birds. It helps slow down the lesions. That person even vaccinated birds with signs of active disease too;

post 50 is bad news. Apparently silkies are highly succeptable to it .

we gotta figure out a good bird vet to do some major testing if it's financially do-able. I am willing to go half-sies or whatever to figure this out. God help us all; My birds were exposed to DH's aunt's birds, and they were constantly getting roos and keeping them to butcher as needed for eating. Mine are at high risk, and i never even thought of the wasting as being related. :( It would fit the time frame for my poor roo. He was great until the end of winter, which was when they started their campaign of bird-getting, and mine were outside when it got nice. So that was why he would've been ok before because he was a fall baby and raised in the closed camper until spring. Would explain my chick's lung/ heart deformity too, could have been growing lesions.

what i got to find out right now is if my pet dove can get it.

I've been resting. A lot. I still don't know for sure about my birds, some have yellow eyes and some have orange? All seem healthy though. I did find out that my dove can't get that , so that's a relief. Still on the lookout for a diff job or at least another part time one.

Not chicken related, but has anyone else gotten the new digital electric meters from consumer's energy in? I got mine last month and my electric has literally doubled, I've turned most of my fuses off at the box and still using about 5 units a day.

Would be good, except this is an unfinished trailer and i don't have any appliances, this is only for occasional light bulbs and microwave use!!!! ???? Waiting for Mon to call and schedule for a meter inspection *this is nuts.* I even went to the lengths of turning off my water heater, so that's not it either. :( ?
No TV, no stove, no fridge, no AC, nothing. Last month they got me for over $40! This month will be even more by the looks of it.

Fuzzy, I wish I had your electric bill. I pay between $125-185 every month. I can't remember the last time it was below $100.
It does seem a bit odd for you to be paying that much if you barely use anything, though. Are you paying for the meter to run?

Yes, we got that new digital one also, last month. I just got my bill in...it was down from last month, so I am not sure. Total charges were 163. So, a lot less than it had been I was hitting near 300 a few month earlier, SO, I am thinking the digital is better running than the old one for me.

Hi All; Sorry it's been awhile. And I'm so sorry you are having sick birds. Not good at all.

Got the results of DH's biopsy and it was NEGATIVE!!! We are so happy.

School's started here so it's been a zoo. I've just got to survive till Dec. = YAY!!!
