I knew today would be a better day! DH fixed the dishwasher.

Only took four more hours and two words I can't put on here.
Bad news is my cocker spaniel blew out her back again. She had only been out potty back in, got a drink and twisted. I know that is when she re injured it. I feel so bad for her. Don't know what to do other then start back on med and cage rest.

Rusty, I hope your puppy recovers quickly. That has to hurt... poor dog.

I just got finished cleaning up my first pasty butt chick. She was not happy, Skatter was even more unhappy. I noticed yesterday that one of the chicks had a dingle berry. I checked it out, but it was not covering the vent so I left it, hoping it would fall off. I checked today, and nope, it hadn't. So, I snatched her and brought her in for a warm soak, a clipping and a hot towel till she was re-fluffed up. Between the towel and my chest, she dried and fluffed pretty quick. Now she is back with mom, and Mom had to try and have the last word and went to give me a chicken hickey, but I was faster than her. HAHAHAAHAAA. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Sheh Sheh is still being broody. Hope she'll get over it soon... Rather sooner than later is preferred.

That was funny I can see you explaining how you got the hickey!
Puppy ruptured a disc in Aug. I think she tweaked it. Walking like an intoxicated sailor. Vet said about 6,000$ to fix it at MSU.

It's so cold and rainy today, I've hardly gone outside at all, except to feed chickens and gather eggs and get firewood (my fire, alas, was unsuccessful). Well, I just started thinking about what my NN babies are going to do. They really haven't ever had rain before, and since predators aren't a problem here I never worried about her just sleeping under a tree. Yeah, well, about sunset I thought, "She's gonna get soaked tonight!" and ran outside. And then I got about 4 chicks in a dog kennel, and she took off in the other direction (all chicks following). And wouldn't come back either. So, she's going to get rained on, and I just hope the chicks will be okay.

They all seemed dry and warm, I just hope no branches break and fall on them. It's unlikely but, who knows. I wish I could have gotten them inside, but according to her, that wasn't happenin..................

Oh, and btw, Eddie Bauer's rain jacket/wind breakers are awesome. When I came back inside my jeans were soaked but my top half was perfectly dry. I didn't think it would work very well in a downpour but it definitely does.

Yay for the dishwasher but oh so sorry about the cocker. Poor baby!

Well, DH took me out to eat at a nice restaurant tonight. It was sooo good and best of all, I didn't have to cook. Yippee!! Now everyone is fed and put up for the night and I'm exhausted so even though it's not even 8:30 I'm going to go change the sheets and then head to bed. Maybe an episode or two of house hunters - ha. My pop door fold up ramp is working so well. I'm really proud of it. No coon will ever get into the coop with it up and latched - hooray! Hi Rusty, sorry I'm almost off here but will 'see' you all tomorrow. Night!

Well MsB, I sure hope those idiots are ok. It is not too cold is it? I like your new avie by the way.

I just spent some time printing mazes out for the boy. He loves mazes, and I think they stimulate that brain of his. I printed them off from krazydad.com/mazes. I got both Book 1 intermediate, and Book 1 Easy Dinos... I shouldnt have bothered with the dinos. He had all 12 done in a matter of minuted. Little smarty pants. We are now out of printer paper. Boohoo.

I think I am going to go and drink me a cup of valerian tea... I have a slightly busy day tomorrow. I didn't do near what I should have done today. But I baked cookies, and ate to many cookies too. Darn John and his fundraiser...
