5 minutes ago - first ever in my life...little tiny pip in one of my eggs!!! bawling like a hyena...prettiest little chipped egg ever!!

Congratulations! Baby Chicks are the best.

This is going to be the death of me, I think. lol! There's a pip, so I'm walking back and forth and back and forth waiting for him/her to pop out! But...I know it could take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours or more...so I'm trying to be patient (it's not working). He/she is probably peeping too, but I can't hear it through the bator. That and our big fatpants Jack Dempsey is about 2 feet from her causing a racket so I couldn't hear her/him even if I wanted to.

I might stay up though - and make some homemade caramel corn and watch a movie.

That's why I just let my broodies hatch. WAY less stress than the bator. It's just such a nice surprise to go out to the coop and whatayaknow, a couple new chicks. YAY! And I can't handle the hatching either. I walked in on one a couple weeks ago and I was a mess all day.

Oh, btw, Nora (White Cochin) still has her single egg and it is doing great! Yay!

Go to bed and dang! Well I guess that goes to show "you snooze you loose".

Finally got eight of my birds sold. Yeah that means more room! Hope the people don't back out
and now I'm going to have to try to catch them later and put them in cages.

. Well, the turkey died. I am so pithed at my neighbors right now over that deal. I'm not even speaking to them. That was just plain senseless. Learned a valuable lesson though.
