Well, it's all in how you look at it. A Marans wether they are APA or not still lays a chocolate egg, by the way, ask her where on the scale is the hen's egg color. I have most colors of Marans, not any birchens yet, but most all colors and at times I cross breed the colors just to see what I can come out with. If I were you and you wanted them, $15.00 is a good price for the pair, I would get them and in the future work on getting a blue copper roo, which Jace is getting ( I think it is Jace LOL) whenever I see you and then get a birchen hen. There is a guy north of Detroit that sells birchens. Birchens are black but you can still breed the blue to black. That's what I would do. Neither color is accepted by APA yet but probably will be someday.
