Fuzzy's Farm

Well, I am happy to say that I did vote yes on prop 6. I did however see the wording on the ballot, and I think a lot of people just voted no on everything. Everything failed, so... Yes, the wording was a bit tricky.

Yes, I understand that now. My apologies. After all, I am wrong once in a great while LOL. I just found that out today. When they said the proposals were voted down I assumed, and again, my fault. Never assume.
I also voted yes on 6
Robin, please don't apologize. I saw my post in yours and I sounded rude which was not intended. I have a very bad way of wording things so it often doesn't sound the way I intend. I was just wanting to know if that was what you were referring to and as Nova pointed out the wording on a lot of these proposals were tricky. I wouldn't be surprised of that contributed to the complete failures of them all.
I voted no.

If that weak chick is still here in the morning try dipping her a few times too. I had to with my porcelain booted banty i got from TSC..........unfortunately she did turn out to be a weaker chick..........that is the one who is sick now, with the weather change. :(

Hi everyone.

Im not reading to catch up. Ive had my fill of political talk and posts and naysayers and celebraters and hoopla and whoopla and fuss and muss and I am done with all of it.

My mom is no better. Kayla is dizzy, but will probably go to school today. She had a seizure right after I posted the other day. Ive no hours this week at work and cant pay any overdue bills. None of the candidates in the election even know me and my issues nor would they help if they did- so therefore, I am done listening about theirs.

My silly sg babies were out and fussing already this morning. Goofballs. They are growing and doing well. My three quail are big now. Need to move them out of the incubator. Just no time.

Im taking my mom to the doctor this morning. Hope they can help her. Hope my hip holds out as I lift her.

I hope you are all doing okay. I miss being able to sit here and read and chit chat. One of these days.....

Supplies the duck with all his new chickie buddies any guesses on the type of chicks ... these came the 4h classroom hatching program here but no one could tell me what type they are ... isnt a big deal but guesses would be appreciated ...... i have two of the babies seperated bc they were sick when they came to me - apparently they had 8 die over night and these 2 were sick ... got them on generic antibiotics and medicated food ... hoping they might make it with the rest of these guys .....
Ahhh, I hope the small ones made it through the night.
"The chicken health handbook" and it's where i have learned the most about health and treatments.
It goes from chick to adulthood, and has many handy charts in there, as well as an encyclopedia style section on each ailment. It also discusses nutrition and flock care in an easy to understand way, to help prevent the illnesses in the first place! :)
If you only owned one book about chickens i would say this is the one to own!
Here is a site that sells it, i am not promoting to buy at this site at all because i don't know anything about it, but it does cater exclusively to bird related books, so you may see others on the list that are interesting as well ?

I checked this out and it really does look good. Going to order it. Thanks Fuzzy! Now I just need something like this for the goats. I think Maggie has a UT infection although she's not running a temp. Having trouble peeing. I'm hoping it's not stones. I've been following her around with a cup to stick under her to take a sample to the vet. So far only a few drops - I'm sticking it under her too late. If anyone had a video they would laugh their heads off.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Oh, just an update. The girls haven't figured out the flock block yet even though I chipped it pretty good. But I did hang a head of cabbage on a piece of rope and they LOVED it. All that's left is the core. I'll get them another in a couple of days. Also Asplunda (the state tree service) is cutting down trees along the right of ways so we picked up about 10 good sized stumps. Now to just get them into the run and goat pen so they can play on them...

Morning Gigi. I read that as "get them in the sun," Not run... LOL, I was thinking, why would you put the stumps in the sun?! LOL

Believe me when I say, I have to go back and reread a lot. Some days my brain goes faster than my eyes, and I have to back up.

Hope your dog just has a UTI, not that that is a good thing. You could get some cranberry pills and trick her into eating them. Sherri, a friend of mine feeds her yowser a blueberry? powder in his food all the time, she has to actually home make his food every week because he has problems with store bought, even the organic brands. So, this yowser is super spoiled. I gave her a cockerel to make his food, and because of the amount of time to cook it, her and her bubby were going to have some of it also, the broth was very very strong, and actually upset the poor guys system, so she's back regular chicken... Oh, anyway, she gets the blueberry powder/enzyme and puts it in his food so it helps his digestion and kidneys, since he's prone to stones also. She uses it without fail. I will talk to her on Tuesday, and If I remember, I will ask her the name... Might wanna check it out. Might be able to find it on google/bing...

ANYWAY! No worky worky today. Well, I have house work to do, and going to finish the end cap that is over the coop where the coons can get in. If they want. I am thinking I will trim back all the branches that actually hang over and touch the coop. I know they are small, but I don't want any of them to be where a coon can use it to get in through the top. Am I just being paranoid here? I might be. I'd really like to leave the coops open to the run at night now that the top is on, but not if I am going to have to worry about a coon going thru the top. I guess, I am just going to suck it up, buy 20 feet of fence, the rabbit kind, that's 3 feet tall, and run it along the inside, under the tarp... Think that'll be good? Am I being a paranoid freak? That coon attack on that took out my beautiful babies really has me... nervous about it... I do not want to see anything like that again...

Gigi...

Do you have Braggs ACV? add 1/2 a teaspoon to her water for 3 days, or her food... then 1/2 teaspoon every 3 days for preventative. It does however say, to get her urine examined too, since she'll need meds for it more than likely. The ACV will help to neutralize the bacteria so she can get some relief.

Yes, the wording was very bad and confusing to people.

I am going to post a picture of the feeder that Olive told me to make for the birds... SO, everyone else will know what I mean if they don't and be able to consider if they are having waste issues...
Cost plus tax is bought new... bout 10 bucks. If you are lucky and already have some used but clean pails ( I got mine from a food factory) then the cost of the pig pan is right aroudn 4 bucks. Cheaper, neater, and much more cost saving than the hanging feeders.
