Kim... lots and lots of internet hugs. We know you would never hurt anything on purpose... well, maybe your stinker of a hubby
All kidding aside... we wish you were not in this situation and all was well.
Nova... That is what Nugget was doing when he started getting wry neck...Maybe the stress from moving from place to place has him all spun out.
Had to take DS to the doctor today...
He spiked a fever of 102* late last night...I gave him some ibprophine to reduce it, then stayed up to make sure it came down. It did.
This morning it was still 99*...
Got to the doctors, finally get into the room, he gets weighed and they take his temp 100*
Wait...
Doctor comes in and asks what has been going on. (Not our usuall doc)
I say DS has had a cough in the morning and at night for quite a while
DS says he has a headache (which he had complained about last night as well)
As Doc checks his ears and throat and lungs and tummy...I tell doc he had a fever of 102* last nigh and it went down with IBP, but it should be out of his system by now...AS THE DOC IS WALKING OUT OF THE ROOM...
Man-nurse (MN) came in (wasn't sure how DS would do with a MN) MN swabs DS's throat somewhat roughly. DS is displeased but is doing really well.
Wait... (hear MN and other nurse talking... MN says "Am I seeing this correctly?" Other nurse says "Yeah, that is what I would say too.")
MN comes back in and says strep test was neg... have DS pee in cup
DS pees in cup
Wait...
MN comes back in pokes Ds's finger and collects blood. MN says what a good boy DS is being. (And he was)
Wait...
Doc comes back in and says DS's strep test BARELY came back positve...So he will give him Amox again... and in 2 weeks if he is not better come back.
DS walks out of office TWO HOURS LATER with a now sore throat from being man handled, finger poked, and lots of STICKERS!!! He was very happy with his stickers!!!
If this cough does not clear up after this dose of meds then I am going to insist on getting an inhaler or nebulizer (sp) or SOMETHING!!
Tomorrow I will vaccuum DS's room and change his bedding and wash it all.
Worst yet I have to watch the kids tomorrow because the lady I sit for figures the kids have already been exposed so wth might as well keep them together...
