Fuzzy's Farm

Today was a bad day for some pedestrian crossing US31 and Riley...
That's so sad. I always thought that was a bit of a bad corner. I worked with a young lady once about 18 years ago who was killed in an accident there. If only people were more aware when they drive and be less concerned at getting wherever they're going as fast as they can.
Sorry guys, not good company tonight. I tried desperately to get blue's body back, at least, and was denied. Really messed up over it, i never even said they could, they assumed................

I will talk when i am better company.
Fuzzy,

Some people just don't get it and they really should be ashamed of themselves.

Nugget is in stealth mode in the house right now... BF has yet to notice and DS has yet to give him up!
I gave Nuggeter a bath today and did not want to put him out in the garage yet... even with his lamp.
Poor boy lays in his water, spills all his food flappin around, and makes an utter mess. So I have him in a small tub under the table for now and made sure he was all nice and full before BF came home from work.
I will get him back out in the morning so he can stretch those legs and get some nummies.
I will have my house chicken yet!

Fuzzy... I do understand the pet thing but I would not want him to go to waste either... just a thought.
Sorry about the whole situation just the same.

Nova... That is crazy! Poor guy!

Don't be ridiculous, Olive would have told her where to get a good bottle of Sweet & Sour Sauce and been done with it.

Those turkeys are Narrs.

This probably won't last long, but KIM, I hope it cheers you up because I see you need it! Chin up, woman. Thinking of you.

Yes, she does need a smile or two!

This gave me one!

We were discovered when Nugget decided to itch when the whole house was quiet... BF took it well....With the promise he would go back out tomorrow
BYFM> Try a couple of rabbit crocks for food and water that are almost impossible to tip over. The actual crock ones not the plastic ones.
I had pyrex dishes in with him...
He sticks his whole wing in or kicks with his legs... he is a clutz... not sure anything would help except securing the dish to the wall.
I had him in a rabbit cage with the dishes secured to the wire, but I have found him once with his wing stuck through the bars and once with his head between them

. Plus the bottom is wire and hurts his legs.
If I supervise him eating and drinking it goes over much better and I can take them away after he is full... now it is freezing outside and i don't want to tromp out there several times a day to make sure he is eating and not wasting food ( or trying to catch pnumonia)

I am experimenting with crushing Se tablets and putting it right in his food instead of in his water or in PolyViSol... It can't get much worse...

No, i would prefer to waste. I have a very different set of beliefs than most people, and left to my own devices i'm primarily vegetarian. I do enjoy meat, but to me they have souls and to eat him is.......... cannabalistic? I have never distinguished between a human and an animal soul. If anything, the animals are similar to children in that they are "pure"? I know my beliefs are out of the ordinary, and i don't try to push them on others, and i don't think less of those who eat theirs. It's human nature. I just don't do it in my coop, i would rather starve to death than eat one of my friends. (I do eat wild-caught meat)

They know very well my beliefs, and to do this is downright ................ i don't even have a word. :( I am going to look at heated buckets and i do not want him going in my coop anymore, i think. For the money i've spent on the rubber dishes and paying him i could have already had them! I've been disrespected in little ways, now a big one (though he has been nothing but pleasant to speak to;) I would actually prefer in-your-face conflict rather than all the little things behind my back. It's only been a couple of weeks since he started doing my coop job, but i thought my instructions were pretty clear? This is the first time i've ever tried to get a chicken sitter.

I wanted to spare DH the duty as he rather liked the roo, but i would have done it myself rather than this had i known he was not going to respect any of my wishes and rush right out and do it. I would still be sick over it, but at least my conscience would be clear.

I'm so sorry, Fuzzy. I understand completely how you feel. Your beliefs are much like my own. Yeah, maybe a heated waterer is the way to go and locks on the coop. I've seen some that you can make with a lightbulb and cement block that look pretty good and are safe. You can calculate the cost (I've seen estimates on BYC sites on electricity) and just give them that every month. It's usually not more than $10 or so. Some people are just clueless and have no respect for others wishes.

On a better note, here's the best calendar site!!! I went out to eat with a girlfriend last night and she and her husband had the books made into photoalbums of their last trip. They were absolutely beautiful and they've been using this site for a couple of years. I'm going to do a book for my husband for Christmas of his labs. They are running a 55% off sale and free shipping. The sale lasts until Nov. 29 so need to get busy with the photos. I may also do a couple of books for the grandkids. Kind of a yearly thing.

Neat, i'll have to try and figure that calendar thing out, would make a nice gift :) Thanks.

Yes, after describing my situation with my co-workers i do feel that my gut instinct is right on this one. They knew my feelings, and the wife in particular has always tried to cause trouble for me in the past.... My coworker friend said it sounded to her like they knew just how to get to me, and though i think the hubby is clueless and just tunes half of what i say out, the wife had a chance to question and she ate mine before she ate hers. :( And he agreed to let me know when it was time and said it would be in a few days.....then did it the next morning so he's guilty too.

now i need to figure out how to break it to him that he will not be getting that monthly extra, after all. Well, they will get it, but it will have to go on electric............. so no beer $$$ for him! Knowing her she has seen the brooder light and has probably been planning to hit me with at least $100 anyway (she don't pay the bill and lies to hubby and tries to say we must be running things)
