FYI: Cheapie Chick Roost

Just an FYI
I took a dollar store pencil tray and added sanded perch covers for a roost/feed tray. Cost $3 and they fight over it! Love it way more than the real perches.

We have sticks duct taped across the dog kennel for the next stage. lol

I just used scrap wood... 2 low flat triangles (rectangles would be fine too) with a dowel in the middle. Just stick a screw through either end of the sides to secure in place.

Oh, well compare that to ours:

This is my chicks' first day out in the real house. It is getting down to 49⁰ tonight and I'm anxious. They recently turned 6 weeks. In their outdoor pen they have a real, nice, long stick wired to one of the posts in their run! We attached it yesterday !

They'll be fine, that's not that cold for 6 week olds as long as they have a good coat of feathers coming in.

Thanks! Thats reassuring. It is currently 48⁰, the coldest part of the "night", and I've been over stressing myself!
