How many people use the sportsman for pea eggs?

More importantly, which trays do you use? Do you stand the eggs up on ends to hold 20? Or use the tray that holds them on their sides to hold 12-15?

I hand turned last year and had great success but it was hard on us to be here to babysit them. Looking to make it a bit easier on my wife and I, but do not want to ruin our hatch rates.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I use a GQF, with great success (under normal circumstances). I use the turkey/goose egg tray, I think it holds 32 eggs. Eggs are always point down, and I've had no problems. Others swear by on the side, but each to whatever works for them. I too don't have enough time to babysit eggs, so I leave it to the incubator to do all the work :D

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely purchasing soon, but have been looking into the dickeys also. Now I'm having trouble making a decision.

Either way, Im excited to have a decent bator for this season.

We have two 1502 digital sportsman that we use for chickens and peafowl. Greatest things we ever bought. I am sure there some others that are good but I don't know how you could get any better except more capacity.

We actually use the blue 48 egg capacity plastic holders and fill it half with peafowl eggs and the other half with chicken eggs between those in order to hatch 96 eggs per shelf. We now hatch all of our eggs, including peafowl, standing on their ends. Don't need to lay them down.
