SPECKLE: Speckle was calmly eating his lunch when Callisto stumbled in. "I fear the little turnfeather has already crossed hoolemere." she spat out the name of the great sea with a voice full of loathing, "You," she said to Speckle as if she couldn't be bothered to remember his name, "Scan the area for clues. I have to speak to someone." Speckle almost asked who but knew the answer would not be kind. "Yes Callisto." he said, trying to keep the anger out of his voice. Then he flew away.
 
Istalri hummed quietly to himself as he hunted for the Ga'hoolian's next meal (he's the cook). it was a beautiful song, it was the one that Evarinya had sung that morning. he saw a patch of fur move below in the undergrowth and dived, catching a plump rabbit for the next meal. struggling to lift the fat creature, he slowly flew back to the kitchen (or whatever they called it in the books... it's been a while since i read them). he placed it on the floor, then left to go get a coal to roast it with.

Qarraex flew over the ocean, enjoying the fresh breeze blowing off the ocean. living her stressful life, occationally she needed a break. she looked at the beautiful blue sky reflected in the ocean waves below her. the copper-rose rain (i'm guessing it's autumn) sun glinted on the ocean, reflecting warm golden beams of light on Quazzar's breast.
 
DIRT: Dirt looked out on hoolemere from Elements hollow (I'm assuming they've gotten there by now) he noticed a reddish barn owl flying over it. He cringed as he remembered the Pure Ones. He'd always believed they were right and that tytos really were born supreme. But as he watched all the different owls at the ga'hoole tree he started to have second thoughts.

((BYW, since Element and Quarraex are king and queen, i'm guessing that they're mates and they share a hollow))
Qarraex did a loop-the-loop, just for the pure pleasure of it, flashing her white breast to the sky (and unintentionally in Dirt's general direction)

the smell of roasting rabbit wafted around the Ga'Hoole tree as Istalri cooked the meal.
