"It appears I have a stranger in my herd," Dour said. He caught a glimpse of grullo coat. Peering around Aurora, his gaze fell on Cinders. "What have we here?" He looked at Aurora, quite sure she hadn't borne his foal yet. "I have another stranger in my herd."

Cinders had her head lowered, not looking at Dour. The filly appeared rooted to the spot.

"This is Cinders" Aurora said "Your filly from Ash, I believe"

"Ash? Ash? Ash?" Dour repeated the name, hoping a vision of which mare that was would come to him. When it did, he snorted. "That traitor!" He lowered his head and snorted harshly at Cinders. "I have no need for my own filly in my herd!"

Cinders squealed and darted under Aurora, reappearing on her other side. Turning, she latched onto one of Aurora's teats and suckled hard. If she was to be thrown out, she would go with a full stomach!

Dour swished his tail in irritation and looked around Aurora. He spotted Cinders, and when she saw him, Cinders' reaction was to try suckling even harder.

"You...are nursing her, Aurora?" Dour looked at the mare, his statement more of a question.
