Dusky kept flicking her tail lazily. She gazed at Titan and sighed heavily. "I guess I have all I need. There's just something I have to do. You'll have to trust me and let me go, knowing I will come back."

A breeze had brought the scent of mare to Titan. The tall black stallion raised his velvety muzzle to the wind and struck a noble pose. Although the scent was tempting, he decided to wait until Dusky was gone to go track her down.

Violet lifted her head to the breeze, and smiled.

A breeze had brought the scent of mare to Titan. The tall black stallion raised his velvety muzzle to the wind and struck a noble pose. Although the scent was tempting, he decided to wait until Dusky was gone to go track her down.

That same breeze, when it switched direction, had brought the scent of another stud to Dour. His mares were spreading out to foal, and he was becoming increasingly nervous about losing sight of them. Ears backed, he galloped back the way he'd come, back toward Violet.

Violet was grazing by herself, glad to be alone for once.

Dusky winded the mare and shook her head. She knew where Titan would be headed next. Waiting until her foal was steadier on its legs, she started to walk away, the colt bounding haphazardly after her.
