Mycenae, sensing the shift in movement out of the corner of her eye, spotted the mare. She gave a big, rather oafish, grin to the two.

Farylyn gave out a warning whinny. Daisy was probably about 100 yards away, but it was still to close.

A little while later, a palomino paint colt was born.

Farylyn licked it off and urged it to stand. She dipped her head down to catch him if he fell.

The colt was unsteady on his feet at first, but soon got the hang of it and began to search for the spot to nurse.
