Onyx nodded. His sleek, dark black coat splattered with his own blood. "You'll see alot of horses here." He chuckled coldly.
She nodded, tossing her chocolate-coloured, wavy mane. Her forelock fell to the right of her pure white blaze, framing her face. "I bet," she said, softly, imagining the herds of horses. "Why are you bleeding?" she asked, just noticing the blood-stains.

Onyx face watched her with a calm expression, but suddenly it hardened. "Uh, I ran through some thorns." He lied, hoping she wouldn't notice. "So why are you alone?" He asked, quickly changing the subject.

"Oh," she said, oblivious to the sudden change of subject. "I was a foal, not but a few months old, when a terrible storm flooded our quiet valley. I was separated from my herd. I have no idea whether they lived or died," she said, looking sadly at the ground. "I wandered the mountains for years, alone. Always looking for my herd."

Herd: N/A. In a small nomadic offshoot of MarshHerd mares who had relatives from the said area.

( Sorry I hadn't replied in forever. Finals week is a butt. )

Dalyla sighed. "I'm in a small group of lone mares. We will offer our wombs to raise strong foals for your herd, protection from strangers, reliance, or anything... in exchange for access to one of your waterways at the edge of your territory. We are thirsty and have been traveling for days, you see, and there is no clean source of water nearby other than this one, and it is indeed a very nice strip of land we are willing to defend and share..."

Kaliska looked up. A bit startled by the mare's offer. "I will need to talk to my father about this." She said calmly. "How do we know you aren't tricking us to get our land?"

Because I have told you my offer and we wish to share the land in peace," she said. "These are desperate times and we must take desperate measures in order to insure our wellness.
Kaliska nodded. "Wont you follow me to our thicket?" She asked. "My mother, the lead Mare, should be there."

"Got it. Shall I bring the others?" responded Dalyla. "Or would it make you more comfortable not to?"
