"i have come to challenge you for Evergreenherd!!!" Panther neighed to Hokota. he cantered at Hokota, head down and teeth bared.

Hokota calculated where the stallion would strike, he held his ground waiting for the last second, the quickly spun out of the way, he flung his hind legs out, aiming a powerful kick at the trespassers ribs.

She stopped but didn't turn, her ear pressed against her head, "I'm dancia." She said cautiously

Honeynut called to her son, studying the intruder with wary eyes. Red Feather ignored his mother and ran toward the stallion, stopping midway he stomped his tiny hooves and snorted a challenge. "How dare you come and challenge my family!" He snorted hotly, "My dad's gonna knock your stupid head off, and I just might too!" Honey ran to her colt in a panic, "Red! Get your little but back to the trees!" She nipped his flanks and corraled him back to safety.

Vanner scanned the surroundings, and just over the lake, he saw Evergreenherd facing a intruder. He snorted angrily, and leaped down the rock. "Lets go Gypsy" he said curtly. Kaliska leaped ahead of her mother, and whinnied happily. "Are we gonna go play with other foals?!" "No." Vanner said, not looking at his daughter. Then he turned and looked at Gypsy. "How in tarnation did she get that idea?" he asked crossly. Gypsy stared at her mate. "Weren't you ever a foal?" she asked perturbed by his sourness. "And whats wrong anyway? Why are we leaving the meadow?" Vanner shook his massive head. "There's an intruder at Evergreenherd. I want you to stay hidden, until I know he's gone." Gypsy protectively swished her tail around Kalsika, and hurried to the thicket. A large area of tangled brush, filled with thorns and brambles, with only a secrete path running through it.

Firefly nicked at Flame's flank, "go, follow Red." She flicked her tail and bounded up to the stallions, keeping a safe distance, she scored the earth with her hoof, and snorted.
