The one shown in the OP is in better shape than one of the ones I use ! Seems to be their favorite one as well.

Chickens do love nasty puddles as drinking water; maybe the yummy algae and rust add to their enjoyment too.
I just this fall threw out my decades old galvanized waterers, and bought new ones. The old ones were very decrepit, and had earned their retirement and recycling.
