I do not know if they can cross breed but i know Coturnix Quail attract wild california quail. Actually there has been a flock of about 20 wild california quail surrounding a back yard with a quail tractor in it for the last two days. One large male keeps calling all day from the fence or on top of the telephone pole next to the alley. There are 45 quail in the tractor male and female.
Makes me want to set one of the Coturnix hens free to join their family. The yard is in a small town and the wild quail are quite the urban homesteaders.
P.S. No i will not be setting Coturnix free to join the wild Cali Quail so save the lectures :+)
That's cool to no lol I'm trying it so maybe it will work i have gamble eggs in the mail so until they hatch and raise up he will b with the cot hen so he is not lonely
