Hi guys I'm thinking about raising some gamble quail, and was wondering what y'all think about them and could it be a possibly a profitable investment

I hear they are slightly harder to hatch and raise than coturnix. And from personal experience, they seem to be very flighty. I bought some button quail from a man who raised Gambles. The birds spooked every time anyone approached the cage. The also seemed to drop feathers as they spooked.

That is my experience, but I have read that with a lot of attention, they become used to their owners.

Gambels are going to be skittish and flighty birds. They really do best in aviary settings instead of cages or pens, so that they can feel as if they are living in a natural environment. They flush up very easily and really are not beginner birds.

As for profit, what where you thinking of doing with them?
