Game Chicken??

What can ya'll tell me about game chickens....they have them at my local feed & seed...my grandmother wants to get a roo to breed to my dark cornish just to see what will come out

game chickens vary with breed, but generaly, the roosters will not tolerate other roosters. but they are very easioly handled

I love Games. I am a breeder of American Gamefowl and would recommend them to anyone wanting a nice chicken that is almost guaranteed to go broody. The hens are not known to be the best layers but with the Cornish crossing you plan to do, I would expect the hens I raised to be both good layers (fair at least) and to go broody on an average level. The Roosters will fight to the death in pure Games but with the crossing you can expect to at least separate the roosters at about five to six months old to be safe. I have many Game roosters and love them. They make wonderful show birds and are surprisingly gentle in your hands even though they are bred to fight. With a little love and care a Game would make a fine edition to any flock......


BE WARNED: JUST LIKE THE ROOSTERS MANY HENS TOGETHER WILL COMPETE FOR DOMINANCE AND FIGHT AS WELL.

Im a planning on making a small breed bird flock....I have one of only large breeds of chickens....I wanna try my hand at breeding different kinds to each other to make a good brooder, good layer, and not really a show bird
