First time poster, forgive any inadvertent missteps.
Just wanted to share some pictures of the results of our blue copper maran roo running with our free range flock of game hens. Trying to add a little bit of meat to the game hen genetics, but not enough to dilute their excellent mothering and general feral nature.
Some of the chicks come from the red/brown feathered/yellow legged hens, while others come from a blue (white) feathered/green legged hen
Will be keeping the f1 roosters featuring the blue game hen color pattern (white neck and molting, blue/black tail) to build out our game hen flock, and all the hens will join the rest of the gang. The red necked roos will head to freezer camp at 4-5 months as a test batch to help us make determinations on who runs with who next season.
