Game (wild) Rooster has thick yellow mucos from nostrils

Thank you for the information. One thing I have not considered is minerals and such. I had not thought about it becuase the chickens are out every day free ranging and eating what they want.

Should I consider putting minerals and vitamins in the community waterer ??

This is a good time of year to run some vit. and electrolyte water through the birds, gives em a little boost to help counter all the stress they are under.

I also keep mine on a rotation of Oxine (minute amounts) in water (gets rid of harmful bacteria), then probiotic in water (Immuno Charge from McMurray), then vitamin supplement in water (Avia Charge 2000, also MMH). Of course, this is not too hard with a small number of waterers to change out.

I recall learning from a doctor that yellow nasal discharge is generally a symptom of a bacterial infection, and greenish discharge is viral. If he was correct, I would imagine this holds for other creatures as well. I would welcome any further information (or correction) from someone with a medical background.
