GAMES FOR EGGS and other fun prizes

Has anybody even given charcoal to the chickens?
I got a chicken magazine in today that says charcoal is good for chicken if done right.
Just wondering if anybody ever tried it before

Never done it on purpose, but when I use to free range all mine would LOVE to scratch through the fire pit, eat the charcoal and take dust baths in the ash. At this property I can't free range but I have considered giving them some charred logs to chip away at. The ash baths are suppose to be good for getting rid of things like mites, but I worry about them breathing in to much of the fine dust.

It's ok mabie next time I'll have better luck
If it makes you feel better, out of 30 eggs I got, that were shipped and packaged well, 2 got broken badly, 2 were cracked and became dead after going into the incubator. (There was no saving them I guess) and I'm down to about 15 eggs, from the original 30 shipped, around day 7ish in the incubator. At the rate I'm going, I'll be lucky to have 5-8 at lock down ;o
