My hens tend to keep their babies for quite a while. I would've used a pic with younger babies but 2 days after this picture, which was yesterday, Daffodil lost her baby. I came home to find her dead on the floor of the coop. Not sure if someone jumped on her or what.

I'm sorry you both lost the baby. :-( I had one hen die like that, just laying there on the ground, no apparent cause of death.
