Tomorrow is my hatch day for the eggs from CJ. 2 were late quitters but in the bator, there are 2 definitely internally pipped eggs. They're peeping away in there the other two are working on it. I would be so thrilled to get to meet them tonight but we'll see what happens

Of the six eggs I got from CJ three weeks ago, five hatched but one was culled because it wasn't it in the best shape.  I'd say that's pretty darn good for shipped eggs.

By the way, I have to give a shout out to Phage - a BYC friend - who helped me incubate these eggs.  I wasn't in town to receive and set the eggs so she helped out.  Chicken people are simply the best.  Thanks again Phage.

Still waiting here. I believe this afternoon/evening start day 21, so I should see action as soon as I get home (I hope). Now to wait another 2 1/2 hours for parents to filter in during parent/teacher conferences....

I believe cj said her shipping window for chicks was around Nov 21st... and she didn't want to do the game til she knew what was going to be sent out so it will be a while before that game is set... I could be wrong though...

That about sums it up! Chicks are due 11/07. DH is having shoulder replacement on 11/14. I'll be at the hospital that Monday & Tuesday. Have to see how that goes if I'll even feel like shipping right after his surgery. I prefer to wait until the AC chicks are a week old to ship, but could try to ship 11/08 or 11/09, or possibly 11/16, else shipping would be on 11/21. Oh, and NPIP tester is coming out that same week, too, to do the semiannual AI testing. I wasn't thinking about the surgery or NPIP testing when I set those eggs.

And don't worry about all of this... we definitely appreciate all of your generosity, but there are more important things going on for you... take care of you, your family and your home first... nobody can fault you for that...
