Gander just disappeared

So sad for your loss - if he managed to get to the other side of your barrier and couldn't get back, he might have wandered off or been "easy pickins" for a larger predator. I like to keep my free-range geese in a flock, they seem to cooperate in both child-rearing and defense. Requires plenty of grazing space, though.

A predator is likely unfortunatly, but the creek could also be a possibility, geese sometimes do wander, and they can get lost very very easily and keep wandering in the wrong directions.

You could try broadening the search area, and searching downstream, also ask people in your area if they’ve seen a gander or heard any unusual sounds.

I found him passed away in the coop this morning😭 I'm guessing he died from shock/stress. I know everyone automatically thinks avian flu with stuff like this but he didn't display any avian flu symptoms and I havent had any unexplained sudden deaths. We havent had any cases in my state either thank goodness. Poor guy....💔 Fly high buddy, I hope you get to scream at hawks to your hearts content!!
