Absolutely new here. My mom n pops have a coop previously used but empty for several years. Getting it up and going for some new birds. There is a small gap once the door is shut, where the closed door meets the wall of the coop. How much of a gap is acceptable to keep predators out?

You could run a strip of wood or hardware cloth around the outside of the door so that it seals the opening once closed. That would help your peace of mind.
