I read that the only way for a chicken to get gapeworms was by eating infected earthworms.

Is this true?

I think two of the young pullets I brought home yesterday may have gapeworms, they are stretching their necks out and opening their beaks, yet they were never outside (the "breeder" never lets any of his birds outside).

Are there other forms of contagion?

i am sorry though i have no idea. i would worm them with invermectin pour on soon. Then you can be worry free.

Oh for sure - I am deworming the WHOLE flock on Friday but understand that different worms need different treatments...

Should I just treat for absolutely everything?

Is that harmful to the birds?
