It is more like yawning. She is not breathing that way, just doing it a lot.
This is the 8 wk old that I have been treating for cocci and who still has red in her poo (taking a fecal sample to the vet today)
My thoughts so far have been necrotic enteritis or worms.
For those who haven't been following the saga of this little chick, she originally showed all the typical signs of cocci but improved after Sulmet and Amprolium. However, she's still smaller than the rest and a bit scruffy. This blood (?) has been in evidence for most of her short life.
Hopefully the fecal analysis will tell, but....any suggestions?

All of my chicks do that at times. I don't know if it means anything if she does it more than normal...sorry.

Thanks. Actually that's helpful - like the link to photos of normal to abnormal poop!
I am probably watching her too closely. You know how it is when you have nursed one in isolation for a while - its like the orphan lamb you have to bottle-feed, you develop such a bond.
