Gaping for air

We have a chicken who is gaping for air and making a hissing sound. Like she is struggling to breath. We’ve quarantined her. She is a ISA Brown and is about 6 months old. Any recommendations?

How long has she been gaping?
Any injuries, air bubbles under the skin, blockage inside the beak, mucous, canker, swelling or fluid in the abdomen?

If there is any way you can take a video of her that may be helpful. Upload to youtube and provide a link.

Seeking vet care is always best if possible.

Unfortunately, the OP (Original Poster) of this thread never did reply back and the thread was started in 2019.

Can you post some photos or get a video of her? For video, upload to youtube and provide a link.

It would be good for you to tell us more about your hen - her age, if she's laying eggs, the symptoms that you see and hear.

Check her over - does she have any injuries or air bubbles under the skin?
Any bloat/swelling or fluid in the abdomen?
Is her crop emptying overnight?
Is she alert - can she stand, eat/drink on her own?
